Cross Hairz Salon

North Park is known to raise successful kids. It’s our school and community “gorilla approach” of investing in our youth. Harvard graduates, state leaders, jet setters and entrepreneurs. The newest young adult to join this status of success is our highlight on our first BUSINESS SHOWCASE.

Kahla Redman, daughter of Ronnie and Christine Redman and graduate of NPHS in 2015 is the newest business owner on Main Street, Walden, USA. Cross Hairz Full Service Salon is located at 454 Main Street, sandwiched between The River Rock Café and North Park Premier Real Estate. Kahla is a gem and her addition not only check marks a goal off her bucket list, but it also fills a need on Main Street for a full time, full service salon. “There’s a need for hair care in the evenings with so many workers in town” Kahla shared, which is why she has her hours set to accommodate the after work crowd. You will find her open 5 nights a week until 8PM or 9 PM depending on the day.

This young lady graduated at the top of her class at Cheeks International Academy of Beauty Culture this fall and is excited to be following her passion after learning about hair coloring as her Senior Project at North Park High. Kahla is an example of the success that comes from the Senior Project program.

The new digs have been remodeled into a modern, yet retro style salon featuring a facial table, pedicure chair, waxing pot and hair salon station. She also offers spray tanning and is considering adding ear piercing. Soon to come are a manicure table and a few other surprises. Her current product line showcases Lanza Hair Care and doTerra Facial products and oils. She’s expanding that product line on request. While I was there I requested Big, Sexy, Hair conditioning spray and she was on it!

Kahla’s unique style and flair is sure to add to her success. She carries on a 30+ year tradition of hair stylist wisdom, passed down from her grandfather, Anthony Garcia who is a cosmetologist. Her beautiful salon echoes North Park tradition with her grandfathers equipment, the retro lounge chair and beauty chair from KC Bechaver’s salon and stations provided by Kelli Pittington. Her business name says it all, and only adds to the ambience of the setting and Kahla’s North Park roots.

I asked Kahla what inspired you to come home to North Park? Her response, "I was so excited to get out and travel when I graduated, but I found that element wasn't for me. I wanted to come home and give back to a community that supported me and gave me scholarships to complete my education." Cross Hairz is striving to meet local needs by setting their hours to be successful. Kahla is open Monday and Tuesday 4-9 PM, Wednesday-Friday 9AM-8PM, CLOSED Saturday and Open Sunday by Appointment. You can find her on Facebook or call/text her at 970-439-8611 for more information.
