Fort Carson Mounted Color Guard
The North Park Never Summer Rodeo is pleased to bring the Fort Carson Mounted Color Guard to our event this year. Thank you to the Silver Spur Ranch for sponsoring their stay in North Park.
The Fort Carson Mounted Color Guard is an active duty Army unit. It was established in 1965 to preserve the tradition and history of the mounted cavalry, and was the first mounted color guard in existence. To this day, the FCMCG trains and maintains proficiency in mounted cavalry skills such as military horsemanship, combat horseman ship, mounted saber engagements, mounted shooting with both pistol and rifle, and jumping. The FCMCG performs at over 270 events per year including military ceremonies, parades, rodeos, cavalry competitions, and much more.
Watch the FCMCG demonstration today and tomorrow in the Main Performance of the rodeo at 100 PM. It is an honor to host their crew here in Walden.
